The redesign of the blog ran into many difficulties between Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer, and making the WordPress system work properly within the design. In other words, many problems crept up. Therefore, the default style has been reset until a redesign works properly.
If you are skilled at CSS and PHP programming, WordPress, and such and would like to help with the blog’s redesign, please contact John Rothra.
Also, after returning to the default style, the blog entry URL’s which are listed using the date and title of the post have ceased working. Therefore, we have changed to a numeric system of Permalink, as that seems to be working. Bookmarked pages using the date/title method may not work. If you discover that, please go to the main blog page and select the blog entry you like. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I’ve updated the look of the blog to fit the overall website design. The idea is to create more uniform design.
Update:
I’m still tinkering with the look, as some links on the sides are blue, some are black. All should be blue. Website design and programming can be quite fun. I owe many thanks to people at SEO Refugee, a search engine optimization forum, who help me with the programming of this site. They know more than I do.

Tracts are a proven, effective method of sharing Jesus with others. They come in various forms, sizes, and styles. One of the more prominent organizations who print tracts is American Tract Society (ATS). Tracts are low cost, easy to carry, and easy to use. Give one to the waiter or waitress as the restaraunt you visit, stand on a busy corner and hand them out to passers-by, share them with your friends and family, or whatever you choose. ATS has an online lesson on how to use them.
I’ve placed a link on John Rothra Ministries’ website for easy access to ATS.

When I was a teenager, I found some devotionals too emotionally driven, or so I said. Despite my teenage foolishness, I’ve come to realize how vital daily devotion to God beomes in a Christian walk. Our Daily Bread, a free devotional magazine, has impacted my life. When I went places with my parents, that free magazine was usually around and I read parts of each one. Now, as a parent and adult, I find myself enjoying the Our Daily Bread radio spots. I wish I had not been so quick to reject them as a teen, but I appreciate the ministry of RBC, the publisher of the magazine, and the influence their little magazine had on my life. I encourage you to check out their site and their daily devotions. You’ll be suprised how God uses their ministry to touch your life.

Happy Mother’s Day!
Today is a day to recognize and remember mothers and motherhood. While Hallmark and other greeting card companies make millions this season due to sales of cards and gifts, we must not forget the one who gave us mothers. God created the family, beginning with the first marriage of Adam and Eve all the way to children and even today. God adores parents, even instructing children to honor and obey their parents.
Mothers have a very important role in families. It is mothers who give birth (as a male, let me say that I’m too wimpy to give birth–my wife is stronger than I in that matter). It is mothers who stay up all night when the child is sick. The phrase “angry mama bear” is quite true: try to harm a child and see what a loving mother does to defend her children. The heart of a mother is a heart that values her children over herself.
But where do these traits come from? They are rooted and born out of a deep love for God above all. A mother who loves God, who believes in Jesus, is a mother who loves her family. My own mother and mother-in-law are in love with Jesus and puts him first. My wife is the same way in her deep love for Jesus. All of them are exemplary mothers.
Remember your mother today. If she is still with you, give her a call and tell her how much you thank God for her. Tell her Jesus loves her. Tell her you love her. Better yet, show her you love her. And always remember to pray for your mother.
God bless mothers.
